Policy Statement: Puget Sound Honor Flight (PSHF) is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all volunteers. Harassment and discrimination in any form will not be tolerated. This policy outlines PSHF's stance against harassment and discrimination and provides a framework for addressing such issues promptly and effectively.
Scope: This policy applies to all Puget Sound Honor Flight volunteers and participants, regardless of their role or position within the organization.
Definitions:
Harassment: Unwelcome conduct, whether verbal, physical, or visual, that is based on an individual's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected characteristic.
Discrimination: Treating individuals unfairly or less favorably due to their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected characteristic.
Prohibited Conduct: Harassment and discrimination include, but are not limited to, the following behaviors:
Reporting Procedure: Any volunteer or trip participant who believes they have experienced or witnessed harassment or discrimination should report the incident promptly to any member of the Puget Sound Honor Flight Board of Directors. Reports can be made verbally or in writing.
Investigation Process:
Confidentiality: PSHF will make every effort to protect the privacy of all parties involved to the extent permitted by law. However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in all situations, particularly when the safety of individuals is at risk.
Non-Retaliation: PSHF prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report harassment or discrimination in good faith. Retaliation is a serious violation of this policy and will be subject to disciplinary action.
