Without these volunteers, we would not be able to carry out the dreams of so many veterans, enabling them to see the memorials built in their honor.

From the moment the veterans arrive at the airport on travel day, until the time they return to their families,  guardians will be asked to ensure every veteran has a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience. 

Guardian requirements:

• Cannot be a spouse or significant other of any veteran on the trip.  We recommend that  a  family/friend guardian for a specific veteran be at least  one generation younger.
• Must be in excellent health and able to comfortably walk 4-5 miles each day with stairs and inclines, push a wheelchair, and otherwise support your assigned veteran and their belongings.
• Must make a donation of $1,000 at least 6 weeks prior to your scheduled trip.
• Must complete online guardian training prior to trip.

Guardian duties include, but are not limited to:

• Contacting the veteran before the trip for introduction
• Assisting the veteran at check-in with luggage, boarding passes, and getting to the gate
• Wheelchair assistance
• Ensuring the safety and comfort of the veteran at all times during the trip
