GUARDIAN APPLICATION

Guardians are essential to the success of Puget Sound Honor Flight.

Without these volunteers, we would not be able to carry out the dreams of so many veterans, enabling them to see the memorials built in their honor.

From the moment the veterans arrive at the airport on travel day, until the time they return to their families,  guardians will be asked to ensure every veteran has a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience.

Guardian requirements:

  • Must be between 18-65 years of age and in good health
  • Cannot be a spouse or significant other of any veteran on the trip
  • Must be able to walk three miles, stand for 30-45 minutes at a time and push a wheelchair up a slight incline
  • Must make a donation of $1,000 at least 6 weeks prior to your scheduled trip.
  • Must complete online guardian training prior to trip.

Guardian duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Contacting the veteran before the trip for introduction
  • Assisting the veteran at check-in with luggage, boarding passes, and getting to the gate
  • Wheelchair assistance
  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of the veteran at all times during the trip

If you would like to be a guardian for one of our trips to Washington, D.C., please download and fill out this form and email or send to:
